Job Description

About this opportunity
De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek offers a unique opportunity to experienced M&A lawyers working for tier-1 firms.

Are you looking for a new challenge at a progressive firm working on the most complex and prestigious transactions? And are you looking forward to relocate to the Amsterdam area (the Netherlands) to work on these matters with Dutch and international colleagues? Then please consider applying for this vacancy or reaching out to us for a 'digital' cup of coffee to get to know us.

About our M&A practice
We are ranked as the best Dutch M&A firm – although worth noting that the firm does not have a "showy" culture, this is not a place for big egos. We are part of the "Best Friends" network, which leads the European league tables in terms of deal value (2021, Mergermarket). We have several international lateral hires in our M&A group, including one who has been promoted to counsel and two who have become partner. Our private equity practice forms an integral part of our M&A department.

But more importantly, we offer a flexible place to work and an interesting career path to our people. While performing at tier-1 level, we want to enjoy working together; we have a strong aim to make the workload as sustainable as possible.

Our core values – courageous, curious and collective – form our anchor and compass. To a large extent, they underline the vision and direction of De Brauw, and they distinguish us from other firms. Collectiveness is an important part of our DNA. We are a OneFirm firm. With a positive, energetic and truly connected M&A group, we will have a strong basis to face the future successfully.

About the role of senior associate M&A
In this role, you will handle the most complex and demanding transactions in the Netherlands and abroad. Together with your team, you will provide pragmatic and strategic advice to our clients. You will work for corporate clients, founders, financial institutions and private equity clients.

You will become an integral member of our M&A practice and you will be involved in all aspects of M&A deals, from pitching, due diligence, drafting transaction documentation, providing strategic and governance advice, negotiating and making sure the deals get to signing / closing in an efficient manner.

You will be involved from the early stages of a project and acting as a key contact person for the client. You will quickly have a leading role in matters and a high level of responsibility.

Although you may develop a speciality, our firm encourages a generalist approach: you will work on both private M&A and public M&A matters. You may also work on reorganisations and be involved in parts of corporate litigation processes. Our M&A practice is part of our broader Corporate practice, which includes many other areas of expertise. You will closely work with colleagues from other departments, including employment, competition, corporate advisory (notarial) and tax.

Who are you?
