Job Description

DCS Asset Maintenance (DCSAM) is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Operator with a great attitude and strong ethics. This position is responsible for performing the day-to-day job functions that support all field operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Loads and unloads equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment. (Skid Steer w/Ditch Bucket and Mini-Excavator)
  • Identify vegetation for removal.
  • Drives company vehicles.
  • Uses all equipment safely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and monitor the work activities of field personnel providing highway construction and/or maintenance activities.
  • Working knowledge of operation, repair and maintenance of equipment supplied by the Contractor and other equipment utilized in performing the activities defined in the scope of work.
  • Working knowledge of the Department’s Standard Plans for Road and Bridge Construction and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and other traffic control procedures for work zones.
  • Ability to clearly communicate orally and written in English.
  • Possessions of a valid and current Class B commercial driver’s license.
  • Willing to possess a current Florida Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator’s license with the categories of licensure in Right-of-Way Pest Control and Aquatic Pest Control. All insecticides and herbicides must be applied by, or directly supervised by, an employee who possesses a current Florida Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator’s license with the categories of licensure in Right-of-Way Pest Control and Aquatic Pest Control. This will allow any position on the crew to have the license. Whoever is licensed must follow F.A.C. 5E-9, Licensed Pesticide Applicators and Dealers.
