Job Description

As Daxko’s Assistant Controller, you will support the VP of Finance in all things money. The right person for this dynamic, fast-paced company will have a CPA, operational and accounting experience, great system skills, and the ability to manage and develop a winning team. This position is highly visible in the organization and requires someone with a great attitude, a proven track record for managing the accounting function, and experience implementing policies and processes that improve efficiencies and position the company for growth.

We'll also want you to...

  • Captain. Direct and coordinate all daily accounting operations including billing/invoicing, accounts receivable reconciliation, accounts payable, general ledger reconciliations, revenue recognition, tax compliance, banking, payroll, and cash management.
  • Execute. Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process is done timely and accurately in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Leverage. Drive improvements and efficiencies to fully leverage accounting system (Intacct)
  • Report. Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business efficiencies, growth and financial operations (in partnership with CFO and VP-Finance).
  • Coordinate. Manage external audit and quarterly review process; liaison with external auditors.
  • Coach. Grow and develop a nimble and solutions-based accounting team.
  • Uphold. Develop and implement internal controls and process across the organization to drive best practices, improve efficiencies and ensure US GAAP compliance.
  • Comply. Adhere to local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Adapt. Advise CFO and VP of Finance on process improvements and application of changes in accounting standards, tax, and other regulations.
  • Collaborate. Participate in customer and team member issues by working with internal and external stakeholders to reach resolution on matters of importance related to financial reporting, team relations, customer relations and billing, and financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA with a mix of public accounting and private sector experience
  • 5-7 years of progressive responsibility, including process improvement and people management as an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller, or Manager or Senior Manager experience at a public accounting firm
  • Experience integrating accounting function as a result of a merger or acquisition a plus
  • Exceptional knowledge of Excel and preference for experience using accounting systems (we use Intacct), CRMs (we use SalesForce), and other financial systems (e.g. AvaTax and Concur)
  • Constructive attitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues and identify solutions in a positive, resourceful and team-oriented way
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels within the company, Board of Directors and external parties
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to think analytically
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
