Position Title: Nature-Based Solutions Campaign Economist

Terms: Permanent, full-time (34 hour/ 4-day week).  Some travel, weekend and evening work will be required.

Location: Based at our Vancouver office. Remote work during Covid-times.

Reporting to: Director General, BC and Western Canada

Salary: 50-60k, based on experience.

About the role:

We are currently looking for a savvy and talented Campaign Economist Lead for our inspiring Nature Based Solutions and Re-Wilding projects.

Your immense knowledge of using a systems-approach to quantification and management of nature-based solutions (NbS) for municipal services has an everlasting impact on communities for positive change. You’ll be working under the guidance of our amazing Director General, BC and Western Canada and responsible for leading a team of motivated experts.

Science-based solutions excite you and you want others to feel the same way and to support our important work. You have exceptional communications and public engagement skills and enjoy spearheading engaging public campaigns as the public face of DSF’s nature-based solutions and re-wilding projects.

Responsibilities

  • Set, meet and exceed targets that move our NbS strategic goals forward.
  • With confidence, you ensure accuracy and the quality control of final products.
  • Provide exceptional technical team management to diverse members across Canada.
  • Guide and support the DSF NbS Manager by identifying barriers and opportunities.
  • Lead stakeholder relations to build ever-growing support for programming.
  • Oversee and complete economic analysis.
  • Personify good values, judgment, and solid ethics. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate-level qualification in Environmental or Ecological Economics Resource Management, or Ecology.
  • Champion of systems-thinking approaches to transformation.
  • Strong understanding of new economic thinking and practice.
  • Extensive experience working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Expert in working with municipalities and communities, including public engagement and mobilisation with great stories to share.
