Position Title: Video & Audio Editor, Part-time Freelance Contractor

Terms:  6-month Contract, part-time freelance hours. Approx. 10 hours per week.

Location: Based at our Vancouver Office, with remote work available during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Reporting to: Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager

Salary: $65+ per hour (based on experience)

About the role:

We are looking for a video and audio editor extraordinaire to tell our stories of diversity of nature and well-being. Your videos are known for having an everlasting impact on communities for positive change. You’ll be working under the guidance of our amazing Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager.

Happy to work within our Foundation’s brand guidelines, you produce video assets and supporting materials in a fast-paced and interactive environment.

You’ll be responsible for capturing, editing and producing videos to support multiple public facing projects and campaigns.

Responsibilities

You are highly motivated and excited to produce:

  • Compelling videos for social media, website, email and other digital channels.
  • Assets in a variety of formats, such as video infographics, long form story-telling, gifs, and simple animations.

You also enjoy providing:

  • Live video technical support (Instagram or Facebook live or events).
  • Cleanup and maintenance of DSF’s YouTube account.

As a team player, you have expertise in the following:

  • Contribute to the Foundation’s video strategy and protocols.
  • Support the testing and piloting of various video formats.
  • Develop standardized and repeatable video templates.
  • Ensure all videos uphold our brand guidelines and science integrity protocols. 
  • Processes of video creation from start to finish.
  • Assist on creative briefs, storyboarding, video sourcing and editing, subtitles, and other iterations.

Qualifications

Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required. 

Education and Experience:

  • 3 + years of video editing experience with a portfolio to share.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut or any relevant video editing software.
  • Knowledge of podcast creation – from set-up to distribution.
  • Highly collaborative working from a distance.
  • Enthusiastic ‘can-do’ attitude.

You also have:

  • Photography experience
  • Non-profit experience
  • French skills
