Job Description

Position Title:

Development Assistant, Community Giving, Québec

Terms:

Development Manager, Community Giving, Québec

Compensation:

$41,237 annually

Description:

The Development Assistant plays an integral role in the success of the David Suzuki Foundation’s fundraising and donor stewardship programs. This position is responsible for responding to donor inquires, data entry, donor event coordination and other donor relations tasks for francophone donors. The position is based in Montréal.

The successful candidate must be fully bilingual. They will need to be a quick learner, very organized with a keen sense for detail and have a positive, customer service-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to French donor inquiries regarding donations, tax receipts, address changes and requests for information, by phone, email and mail
  • Support and steward community-based (third party) fundraising initiatives in Quebec
  • Liaise with Community Giving team to ensure accurate deposit, receipting, and recording of French gifts
  • Update and maintain accurate donor information in the Raiser’s Edge database
  • Follow up with donors on rejected credit card and direct debit transactions
  • Support Community Giving department with other donor relations tasks, as necessary
  • Coordinate logistics for all donor events in Quebec
  • Coordinate day-to-day aspects of external donor calling and street canvassing campaigns
  • Coordinate Quebec office thank-a-thon in collaboration with English Community Giving team
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • One-year related donor/customer relations experience, preferably in a fundraising program
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or equivalent database
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Artez and Shopify an asset
  • Superb written and spoken English and French language skills
  • Strong values aligned with the Foundation’s mission and values
