As an experienced engineer at DataStax, you will tap your experience building cloud-native systems to make DataStax Astra the worlds best cloud-native database. You would be highly involved in the design, implementation, and operation of solutions to solve the problems as we scale up and deliver Astra to our users so that they can solve complex, cloud-scale problems without the operational burden of running a distributed data persistence platform.

What you will do:

• Be a member of the Astra Cloud Database team supporting cloud native architecture.

• Design, document, develop, operate and maintain systems using kubernetes for deployment

• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, operability, and stability of production systems

• Optimize our infrastructure at both the software and hardware layers

• Design and build algorithms to help detect anomalies and trend changes in our Production systems.

• Work with Cassandra on a massive scale while playing an integral part in our mission to put the power of Apache Cassandra in the hands of every developer.

Your experience should include:

• Supporting Microservices

• Passionate about experimenting with new technologies and guide a path to its adoption

• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture

• Aptitude to independently learn new technologies

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)

• Demonstrated understanding of software and systems engineering best practices, concepts, and technologies

• Production experience with any of the following highly desired: Kubernetes, Apache Cassandra, Terraform/Chef/Puppet, Elasticsearch/ELK, Spark, Kafka, Golang, Hashicorp stack, Jenkins

• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex problems in large scale distributed systems with a variety of technologies

• Strong proclivity for solving complex and interesting problems and have the confidence to run systems in a production-level environment
