Job Description

 This position, as a member of the task force will be dedicated to the support of the WAN/LAN infrastructures to possibly include activities/tasks related to traffic engineering, hardware/software configuration, diversity analysis, disaster recovery analysis, utilization analysis, network implementation, problem management and general subject matter expertise. for this project and will work with the Project Manager to document efforts, implement technical remediation plans, prepare procedures, supporting policies, and document compensating controls for a diverse networking environment; primarily Cisco. Task force will be comprised of network engineers, server administrators, application developers, DR subject matter expert, and a technical writer to augment work that will need to be done to execute. All task force members will provide regular dashboard reporting to the Project Manager.

  • Good understanding of large networks, network equipment, provisioning, trouble isolation, and equipment configurations
  • Good understanding of routing protocols, routed protocols, security, and application services
  • Experience with Cisco Routers/Switches required
  • Knowledge of Layer 2 and 1 protocols/services: Switching, VLANs, Ethernet, STP, Frame-Relay, ATM, Private Line, DS1, DS3, OCx.
  • Experience with WAAS, VoIP, IPT and WiFi, Juniper routers/switches, and F5 load balancers
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team player with ability to work in a high-stress environment while maintaining high quality and being flexible
  • Knowledge of communication technologies and networking technologies e.g., TCP/IP, Routing protocols, LAN, WAN technologies
  • The ability to work in a virtual team and interact on the phone with customers and peers
  • Able to quickly grasp the needs of this engagement.
  • Be an independent thinker who's not afraid to suggest alternate solutions as well make, admit and learn from their mistakes
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Network certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or CCDP; JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIE or JNCIP) desired
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Engineering or other Scientific/Technical discipline desired
