As our Connectivity MS Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in our Connectivity Managed Services team. You'll be our go-to expert, dedicated to providing top-notch service, second-level support, and high-quality managed services. Your work will ensure that our systems and solutions remain consistent, optimised, secure, and automated throughout their life cycle.

Ideally, you should bring experience in delivering and supporting a wide range of network solutions, including WAN, LAN, Broadband, WIFI, and security. You'll also be adept at handling complex third-level technical issues that get escalated, all while effectively managing our customers' expectations throughout the process.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering top-tier support and uphold the highest service standards.
  • Ensuring consistent optimisation, security, and automation throughout the system life cycle.
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of solution requirements and their impact on design.
  • Validating high-level designs, addressing missing information.
  • Providing accurate effort estimates for design and implementation.
  • Creating complex Low-Level Design (LLD) docs for various technologies.
  • Verifying LLD alignment with High-Level Design (HLD).
  • Developing detailed plans for project delivery (build, integration, and testing).
  • Executing implementation tasks according to LLD.
  • Thoroughly testing solution components and the overall technology.
  • Keeping stakeholders updated on progress.
  • Generating quality documentation for smooth handover to support teams.
  • Leading overall solution delivery, plan, and identify improvements.
  • Fostering collaboration with colleagues and technical teams.
  • Interacting effectively with customers at all levels.
  • Participating in on-call rotation, potential 24/7 availability based on business and customer needs.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Routing and switching expertise.
  • Strong command of Cisco routers and switches; openness to learning other manufacturers, including Extreme.
  • LAN design, configuration, and troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Sysadmin background with UNIX/Linux and scripting (Perl/Python/Expect/tcl).
  • Proficiency in network automation tools like Ansible and Salt.
  • Knowledge of Network Monitoring technologies (SNMP and packet analysis).
  • Cisco Quality of Service (QoS) design and troubleshooting.
  • Supplier management, internal negotiations, and ITIL experience.
  • Excellent technical documentation, presentation, and diagramming skills.
