This is an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to further develop their career within the finance team in Daisy’s Corporate Services division based in Nelson. You will be joining an industry leading business, with scope for long-term career progression. This role is ideal for a dynamic management accountant seeking a hands on role and real ownership of key areas of the business for both reporting and forecasting.

Job Description

  • Ownership of the DCS gross margin management accounts and balance sheet, focusing on the Connectivity product set.
  • To provide monthly variance and trend analysis vs. prior year, budget and forecast.
  • Working with Revenue Assurance team, to address gaps in billing and provide cost assurance, to realise improve margins and revenue uplift.
  • Production of balance sheet reconciliations for gross margin.
  • Working with the Head of Management accounts, and the broader team to identify and explain trends, working towards improved forecasting.
  • Improve KPI and base reporting, collaborating with MI team to ensure data reconciles to management accounts, and is understood.
  • Working with commercial and product teams to understand and interpret commercial deals, outlining opportunities and risk.
  • Assist in the production of divisional budgets and forecasts.
  • Working with the divisional financial controller on ad-hoc projects.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as set by Head of Management Accounts.
  • Be vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.
  • Periodically review Daisy Security Policies – centrally hosted on the Intranet - to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.
  • If you are a Manager of staff, you must ensure:
  • Ø  your team are aware of their security responsibilities & know how to access Daisy Group Security Policies hosted on the Intranet;
  • Ø  the principles listed with the Daisy Group Security Policy Statement document are embedded within the operations of your team.
  • Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.
  • To be compliant with health and safety company policy and legislation.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • A clear grasp of core accounting and ability to support junior team members.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, working with colleagues across DCS and broader group.
  • Positive and determined attitude – you’ll be someone who likes to take ownership.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and proactively manage workload to strict deadlines.
  • Experience working as part of a large/complex organisation- desirable.
