Company Description

The Sales Manager is responsible for Account Management  of commercial customers. Heading up a team of between 6-8 quota carrying sales people. It is their task to identify customers and opportunities within the targeted corporate market place and sell to them the appropriate communications solutions.

Job Description

  • Ensure that the team understand and are committed to the strategic direction and are selling business-focused solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with major communication consultants.
  • Obtain sales progress records regularly and produce and communicate accurate forecasts within Daisy via the forecasting system.
  • Explore and pursue the agreed target markets.
  • Identify and pursue new areas of business.
  • Ensure that the sales unit meets financial targets agreed with the Head of Commercial Customers.
  • Act as London-based management contact for Commercial Sales.
  • Monitor sales activities, ensuring that all new sales fit with the strategic direction.
  • Ensure that sales data is provided and analysed regularly in order to develop accurate forecasts or potential and workload.
  • Agree sales and product targets for sales teams.
  • Manage costs for the region and ensure that the group work within budgets defined in management accounts.
  • Provide monthly management reports for the Head of Commercial Customers.
  • Communicate Daisy’s vision and its implications for Sales and develop a clear framework within which the sales force can operate independently but with clear objectives. Provide assistance in developing the sales message.
  • Coordinate development and training within the teams to ensure that all members are developing their own career as well as their capability of identifying and converting new customers.
  • Identify and develop new team leaders and future Sales Managers.
  • Motivate the sales team, provide guidelines when required and acknowledge achievements.
  • Work with multi-functional teams on specific projects focusing on improving business efficiency.
  • Delegate activities to own sales teams as appropriate.
  • Encourage individuals to identify own customer base.
  • Get involved with key prospects at senior level when perceived to be appropriate or a customer requests senior input to a meeting.
  • Hold regular update meetings with the team.
  • Identify key business offering issues and work closely with other departmental managers to find improvement in overall company effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Understand and aid development of the corporate business process model and ensure that staff understand and work to the laid down procedures.

Qualifications

  • Senior Account Management experience within the IT/telecommunications industry
  • Understanding of the Daisy Story and the growth plans
  • Understanding of key market drivers and competitor activity
  • Strong motivator of people, self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Understanding of IP-based technologies
