The Managed Service Design Architect is responsible for the design and creation of service solutions in response to requirements from customers and partners

Job Description

The scope of the service solution will cover all aspects of outsourcing and support, including monitoring, hardware maintenance, software support, service desk, remote management and service improvement, for both new business and renewal of existing contracted services.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating requirements to establish a solution which addresses customer needs and delivers them value to their business
  • Ensuring completeness of solution requirements, providing the solution authority for the total proposition
  • Establish assumptions and risks to the solution, manage these throughout the lifecycle of the solution creation and transition process
  • Prepare solution and commercial propositions for approval through the Daisy bid review process
  • Tuning the solution to address specific customer needs without jeopardising the integrity of the solution
  • Ensuring that the feasibility of the solution aligns with Daisy’s actual services and planned delivery potential
  • Follow internal governance process for solution and cost sign off and all required levels
  • Providing a single point of contact for all information pertaining to the solution design
  • Creating the solution description documentation
  • Accompanying Sales to present the solution verbally to the customer explaining Daisy’s value add
  • Discussing the solution in detail with nominated technical and business experts convincing them of the merits of the solution
  • Managing service validation activities to resolve any solution assumptions
  • Ensuring a successful handover to operations for solution delivery
  • Ensure appropriate service schedules are created in line with the solution design for contract submission
  • Establish and cost appropriate service take on/transition projects working with Project Management
  • Contributing to service development activities such as service and cost definition
  • Take active interest in the Daisy and wider industry IT services offerings as they develop
  • Be vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.
  • Periodically review Daisy Security Policies – centrally hosted on the Intranet - to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.
  • If you are a Manager of staff, you must ensure:
  • your team are aware of their security responsibilities & know how to access Daisy Group Security Policies hosted on the Intranet;
  • The principles listed with the Daisy Group Security Policy Statement document are embedded within the operations of your team.
  • Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.
  • To be compliant with health and safety company policy and legislation.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
  • Experience and proven track record of leading bids and winning contracts ranging from £100k to £10million
  • Ability to understand complex customer requirements and articulate those from the
  • customer’s perspective
  • Ability to quickly understand a customer’s environment to establish support and managed service requirements
  • Good understanding of market trends and industry best practice for service delivery (ITIL)
  • Proven experience in creating similar managed service/outsourcing/support based solutions
  • Competent documentation/solution proposal generator
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Team worker who can lead a virtual team across sales and technical functions
  • Able to operate up to CxO level both internally and externally when presenting, negotiating scope, technical, and commercial
  • Ability to operate, develop and create complex commercial models
  • Willingness to demonstrate flexibility with working hours where required to meet customer deadlines
  • Experience of services similar to those in the Daisy portfolio including: ITIL Aligned Service Desk,
  • Managed Desktop, Infrastructure outsourcing, Public and Private Cloud Service, Network and Unified Comms
  • Knowledge and Experience of contracts involving TUPE
  • Experience of structuring transitional and transformational approaches to contracts
  • Extensive experience in developing managed service propositions for clients

Desirable:

  • ITIL Intermediate or Expert qualification
  • PRINCE2 qualification
  • Appropriate technical qualifications
  • Knowledge of IT Bid Support Processes
  • Public sector procurement experience
  • Candidates from other customer facing roles may also be considered e.g. service delivery, sales, operations
