Providing timely, accurate and relevant information for management and statutory purposes to improve decision making across the whole business, in order to lead and meet financial targets.The role will suit a high caliber accountant with excellent technical skills and a strong desire to drive improvements in reporting, processes and controls. Managing a finance team to provide high quality, timely financial management information.

Detailed responsibilities are as follows:

  • Consolidate and report the monthly management accounts, working with finance teams to ensure a complete and accurate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow.
  • Manage a small team to produce the monthly management accounts, managing balance sheet reconciliations and overhead accounting.
  • Partner Business Leaders in understanding and controlling their cost centres.
  • Responsible for DCS consolidated forecast and budget process.
  • Develop and improve meaningful financial modelling and analysis, including the development of a dynamic cashflow forecast model.
  • Report and review monthly KPI’s to support wider business development.
  • Support Head of Finance in the production of monthly Board packs.
  • Lead annual external audit process and statutory accounts production.
  • Take ownership for all statutory requirements.
  • Ensure that financial controls and processes are in place & maintained.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members of the Finance team across the group to ensure connected and efficient working as one team.
  • Work with group functions to manage tax and treasury requirements when necessary.
  • Be vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.
  • Periodically review Daisy Security Policies – centrally hosted on the Intranet - to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.
  • To be compliant with health and safety company policy and legislation.

Qualifications

  • Must be fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Strong technical accounting skills and audit mindset.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Reporting experience with the ability to instil robust controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills – working with colleagues across DCS and broader group.
  • Positive and determined attitude – you’ll be someone who likes to take ownership
  • A technical grounding gained in practice would be desirable (but not essential), having either progressed to Manager level or gained experience in a reporting role in industry already.
