The Department

Our Managed Services team is an outsourced scheduling and logistics service for top-tier dairy clients. Our customers leverage our team to manage their day-to-day scheduling of needs across their plant networks. This means working with their trading partners and haulers to set a schedule, secure transportation and manage the day-to-day changes and exceptions.

Using our technology platform, our team is entering loads into planning tools, talking to buyers and sellers about supply and demand, finding a hauler when schedules change, and making sure our clients are satisfied with the service we’re providing.

What You’ll See

On a day-to-day basis, the role entails:

·        Work with customers to schedule freight and dispatch haulers

·        Efficiently plan and route freight movements

·        Manage pickup and delivery schedules

·        Trouble-shoot and problem solve issues as they arise

·        Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you analyze and reconcile hauler invoices and payments. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to be precise and detailed oriented in a fast paced environment.

As a special emphasis, we’d like to use the summer intern to help use leverage the underlying data to better understand and look for areas of improvement in our clients’ networks. This means downloading lots of data, looking for pattern and outliers, creating scorecards and suggesting actions to improve performance.

Work Schedule

Typically, 8 hours a day Monday through Friday. The start time may vary as our clients span the country and time zones. The intern will help cover evening and weekend on-call support. (Which will look good on resumes down the road!)

Qualifications

Current student enrollment in Supply Chain Management program or similar.
