Daayitwa (translated as ‘self-responsibility’ in English) envisions a thriving Nepal where all citizens embrace their responsibilities to collectively transform societal challenges into innovative opportunities.  Towards this vision, Daayitwa is building a movement of young leaders who are guided by shared values of collaborating, innovating, and serving to create solutions to tackle systemic issues in Nepal.  More specifically, Daayitwa has three goals:

Rural Enterprise Acceleration Program (REAP) is one of Daayitwa’s major projects. REAP holds the mission to foster a community-based entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nepal by supporting and nurturing local entrepreneurs to accelerate their innovative enterprises. Initially, through the Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge, growth oriented and potential enterprises are shortlisted. Through its various interventions, REAP aims to serve a catalytic function to make these enterprises investment ready by providing different training including a leadership course, networking opportunities and mentorship through its various activities. 

Job Description

The Executive Intern will assist the Executive Chairperson in ensuring effective daily operation and promoting an organization’s visibility and supporting fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Executive Intern will include:

Coordination: 

  • Assist the Executive Chairperson to ensure effective day-to-day management
  • Assist with content management, including drafting documents, preparing for meetings, taking notes and maintaining records

  • Provide support for event planning and execution

  • Provide other program and administrative support as needed

Communications: 

  • Support in writing impact stories and other reflection notes for mass media

  • Create and organize learning notes based on an organization’s programs

  • Organize knowledge sessions with speakers from inside and outside the organization

  • Increase organizational outreach through research and content development

  • Assist in fund-raising research, grant writing, and report writing

 

Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in business, policy or social development sectors

  • Some prior professional experience preferred

  • Excellent command of writing in English

  • Proven ability to prioritize, communicate with others and manage daily workload

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced adaptive environment

  • Proactive and practical approach to problem-solving 

  • Professional verbal and written communications skills
