Job Description

Position Title: Communication Officer
No. of Vacancy: 1
Based: Kathmandu
Application Deadline: April 25, 2018
Weekly Hours: 42 Hours (Full-time)

Communications Officer will oversee all internal and external communications functions of the project. The person will play a critical role in the outreach efforts of the project, and carry out daily engagement in building good will of the organization at large. The position will receive supervision from the Project Officer - Yuwa Aaja!

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to increase the outreach and visibility of the project
  • Create contents which includes write ups, stories, press releases, social media posts etc. related to the project
  • Coordinate dissemination of content and official correspondence to the public through relevant media tools
  • Support in conducting translations of all relevant documents (nepali to english  and vise versa)
  • Devise social media campaigns for different components of the project and implement them
  • Create and manage documentation and database related to partnership development and external relations Build and strengthen relations with local, national and international media outfits
  • Regularly  update content and information on the Daayitwa website
  • Foster dialogue among stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries of the organization
  • Take on other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelors or Masters in Journalism/Communication, Media Studies, or in Social Sciences
  • Strong writing skill is a must
  • Relevant experience of 1-3 years will be a plus point
  • Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Wordpress etc.
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop or other Graphical software  is desirable
  • Self-starter and team-player with enthusiasm for continuous learning and sharing. Key is growth mindset
