Job Description
The role of Class 1 LGV Driver in our Transport Department entails the critical responsibility of executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. This position requires operating a modern and well-maintained fleet on predetermined shift patterns, delivering to HGV-compatible locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate Class 1 LGV vehicles in strict compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Execute precise and timely bulk collections and deliveries to maintain the efficiency of our logistics network.
- Adhere to agreed shift patterns and routes to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Perform trailer swaps or oversee live unloading and reloading processes, as dictated by specific customer requirements.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all deliveries, collections, and vehicle operations.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Represent DPD professionally at all times, upholding the company's reputation for excellence in service.
- Adapt to varying customer needs while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and other drivers to ensure seamless operations.
- Continuously update knowledge of road regulations and company procedures to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
- Minimum 12 months Class 1 experience
- Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card
- Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
- Demonstrated ability to load and unload trailers as required
