We are currently recruiting for a driven and motivated Linehaul Operations Manager Designate to join our award winning Linehaul team and help them achieve ever-greater heights. Could this be you?

As the successful Linehaul Operations Manager Designate you will report directly to the Linehaul General Manager and you’ll be a key member of the management team, working in a time critical distribution environment. Due to the nature of our operation you will be required to work on Nights. 

Other key accountabilities of this role  will include;

• Responsibility for actively managing the running of the DPD Group Linehaul, fleet and drivers through a number of Shift Managers, Traffic clerks and Senior Drivers

• Working closely with the Hub Operational Team and Network Management

• Ensuring an efficient Linehaul service to Hubs, Network  Depots and Customers.

• Leading and motivating a large team in pursuit of KPIs and departmental targets  

• The management of employee and vehicle resource, holiday planning, health and safety

• Ensuring compliance with the company environmental policies and understanding legal requirements

• Ensuring that department compliance audit results achieve company expectations

• Create and deliver training plans for direct reports to multi skill the team and ensure department succession

• Step up to cover the roles and duties of the Linehaul Operations Manager when they are away from the business

Operating in an environment where working efficiently under pressure and at pace will be key to your success, you should have strong people management experience, involving direct accountability and responsibility for motivating and leading a high performing team. In addition, we’ll also expect you to:

• Be an experienced logistics professional with strong operational management experience.

• Have proven experience within a similar role having run a vehicle fleet of 400+ vehicles

• Be an effective communicator with an enthusiastic, customer orientated approach

• Have the ability to work under pressure

• Be flexible as this role will require you to work nights. 

Job Specifics

You will have a thorough induction to the Linehaul operation as well as a comprehensive induction to DPD. 

This role will require you to work Nights covering Monday to Friday, however flexibility will be required as we operate over 24 hours per day so some weekend working may be required at busy times. 

A Full UK driving Licence  is essential for this role
