Job Description

DPD have circa 12,500 Owner Driver Franchisees (ODFs), that help deliver fantastic service to our customers, and as the successful candidate you will have accountability across multiple Regions, Depots and ODFs. 

You will be responsible for 23 Depots to include: Bicester, Gloucester, Reading, Feltham, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea, Cornwall, Exeter, Southampton and Portsmouth

We are looking for an outstanding individual skilled in the art of negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management. 

Your primary responsibility will be to effectively manage the relationship, and upward and downward communication to our ODF population, Depot Management and Senior Management. This is a crucial role in achieving our exceptional service levels, as our ODFs are critical to the successful delivery and collection of parcels for our customers and end consumer. We also expect you to

  • Manage and lead a team of Regional Recruitment Managers to ensure all ODF recruitment targets are met.

  • Influence the recruitment, on-boarding, and engagement of all new ODFs in your Depots

  • Develop strong working relationships, identifying any communication or process gaps that need to be addressed

  • Closely manage and resolve any conflict that may impact on the ODF scheme

  • Feedback to the Depot/Senior Management teams for onwards discussion, resolution, and improvement.

  • Significant travel with overnight stays will be expected in this role.

Qualifications

About You

You must be able to evidence a successful track record in relationship management and conflict resolution, ideally within the distribution or similarly related industry. You will be comfortable operating in an environment where working efficiently under pressure and at pace is critical, 

Your outstanding communication and interpersonal skills will stand you in good stead in this role as will your ability to think strategically/tactically. We’ll also expect you to;

  • Be a strong negotiator with the ability to influence both upward and downward.

  • Decisive decision-making and time management skills.

  • Have the ability to effect and successfully implement change.

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Demonstrate high levels of resilience, self-motivation, and flexibility. 

  • Experience in using Excel/Sheets to process and manage data will be beneficial

Additional Information

 Job Specifics

A full clean driving licence is essential as is a flexible approach to travel and overnight stays.

We can be flexible with your "base" location so that this is the one nearest to where you live but you would be expected to spend equal time in all your depots.
