Job Description

Founded in 2015, DOZR is the world’s first intelligent comprehensive search for heavy equipment and the largest online equipment rental platform. DOZR leverages technology to empower contractors across North America to run their businesses more efficiently.

We are looking for a Controller who will own all aspects of general accounting and accounting operations including financial close process, technical accounting, accounts payable, payroll, sales tax, accounts receivables and treasury functions, while setting the company up for success with future growth.

This is an ideal role for an ambitious accountant who wants to roll up their sleeves and shape the future direction of the accounting function at an exciting growth-stage company.

In a typical day, you might:

  • Manage accounting department operations (G/L, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, sales tax)
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting and FP&A activities
  • Help prepare financial reports for Executive and Board meetings
  • Perform ad-hoc analytics on large datasets
  • Perform hands-on accounting including preparing and posting journal entries and performing account reconciliations, as needed
  • Suggest, collaborate and create process improvements with cross functional teams
  • Assist with preparation of information provided to the Company’s external accountants


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
  • Extensive experience with record keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks
  • Highly motivated, driven and self-starting individual who can hit the ground running
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
