Job Description

As an Engineer you will be carrying out site wide electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation work, problem solving and continuous improvement to both increase and maintain production efficiencies. Your skills in both electrical and mechanical engineering will be put to the test, making every day a stimulating challenge.

  • Perform repairs in the unit in line with Company’s standard
  • Responsible for all maintenance checks
  • Carryout tasks that include but not exclusive to electrical mechanical and utilities of all assets in all areas of our operations across multi sites 
  • Liaise with other departments to communicate effectively
  • Carrying out day to day maintenance
  • To assist the Maintenance Manager and to adhere closely to repair schedules
  • Effectively carryout all planned maintenance and support fault finding.
  • Pro-actively repair, maintain, and prevent breakdowns of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, drainage and other utilities on the unit
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients, third-party contractors, and parts vendors
  • Keep engineering tools, such as manuals, safety protocols, parts and work tools up to date and available to staff
  • Communicate with the clients and customers about work time, fault repairs and downtime, working to minimize customer wait time and maximize solution efficiency

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in the food industry
  • 3-5 years experience as Engineer is required 
  • Relevant engineering qualifications – minimum Engineering NVQ or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and regulations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data driven with the ability to influence different departments to suggest, implement and track solutions
  • Build strong relationships with the team and other departments in the unit
  • You are a clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English, and will use a variety of methods
  • You can apply your knowledge and skills to quickly solve problems when presented with an urgent issue
  • Strong numerical reasoning ability
  • Organize your time effectively and prioritize tasks based on their level of urgency
