Join us in building a transformative landscape for the future of finance. As the first Principal Software Engineer, you will be the go-to tech person and architect to own and drive decisions. You’ll be very hands-on and make a lot of impact helping the engineering and devops teams solve problems and overcome challenges. You’ll have opportunities to progress into other roles as DLT Finance grows.
Collaborate with a highly skilled, motivated, and diverse international team in our hybrid workplace in the Berlin office, or you can be based remotely anywhere in Europe with travel to Berlin.

About you
At least 8 years of professional experience as a software engineer, including solid recent experience with Golang - maybe you are currently a Principal, Staff Engineer, Tech Lead or Team Lead, or an Engineering Manager who wants to be more hands-on
Solid Kubernetes and infrastructure knowledge
Experience working in finance-based environments, or helping to develop banking infrastructures. We deal with a lot of trading information, and you will need to quickly understand or adapt to key concepts in this area
You’re a structured person who documents everything
You can be very hands on while also making architectural decisions and being the go-to tech person
Experience with complex microservices, event-driven architecture, integrations and developing APIs
Deep knowledge in system designs and software architectures
You enjoy OOP and having your amazing code tested, documented, and validated
You are comfortable with SDKs, APIs, automated generation, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
Clean Architecture experience is a big plus
Knowledge in Python is a plus
You enjoy a fast paced and ever-changing environment and can navigate ambiguity while staying focused on the outcome
Based in Berlin or in Europe (with travel to Berlin)
What you will do
As the first Principal Engineer, the role can be shaped around who is hired and you will have opportunities to progress into other roles as the company grows. You’ll collaborate with devops and engineering teams to build new features and services and overhaul existing architecture
Collaborate closely with the CPO/Cofounder and the Head of Engineering in the overall tech and product team of 17 currently
Contribute to setting technical vision and defining the roadmap for the next quarters
Design, implement, and maintain a robust and secure crypto trading platform
Ensure the scalability, reliability, availability and security of our platform
Break down ambiguous problems and propose innovative solutions
Identify areas of improvement to elevate software engineering practices, code quality, and system designs
You will be primarily focused on a Golang based platform, but there may be lateral work in other languages along the way, such as Python
