Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environment Officer who will be responsible for all aspects of HS&E and Building Maintenance within a challenging and demanding role in our busy General Affairs Department.

Job Function

The HS&E is a legal operational required role within DNUK & is part of the General Affairs department which consists of four team members. It plays an essential part in maintaining and delivering a high standard of HS&E requirements, advice and ensuring that the buildings are maintained. This role requires strong communication and project management skills and will be an excellent opportunity for someone to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. The HS&E Officer is responsible for ensuring that DNUK is compliant with all current HS&E legislation across the DNUK property portfolio and that all building systems are maintained and working correctly (Power/Heating/Security, etc).

Main Responsibilities and Activities (but not limited to)

The HS&E Officer will be responsible for the day to day delivery of all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment. Other duties will include:

  • Lead on all HS&E internal & external audits.
  • Lead in environmental tasks, internal and external audits and projects(ISO14001).
  • Lead on all HS&E incidents/reports/near miss investigation and closure.
  • Responsible for ensuring all GA systems are operating correctly, ensuring that the building remain operational.
  • Responsible for all GA contractors works on site.
  • Ensure building maintenance schedule is completed.
  • First line of report for all building breakdowns / faults.
  • Organizing, sourcing, management (including induction), setting contractors to work and checking completed works for all GA external contractors, required on site.
  • GA Systems expert (Building Control Management/Security Systems/Fire Systems).
  • Give technical advice to the GA Manager.
  • Be first contact for GA emergency calls.

Specific Responsibilities

No direct supervisory responsibilities but able to work on own initiative and with others in a team environment. Responsible for the initiation of work for GA contractors on site and signing off works.

Qualifications

Must have or be prepared to obtain:

NEBOSH H&S Certificate

Environmental Auditors Qualification (ISO14001)

Skills

Auditing knowledge

Project Manager skills

Budgeting knowledge

Strong IT skills
