Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Specialist VAT operations. In this position you will be responsible for the VAT Compliance process of our various VAT registrations in the EU. You work together with the VAT administrator.

DENSO Europe's Finance & Accounting is the shared service center for the European DENSO Manufacturing & Sales organization and as such has a challenging & interesting VAT structure. Apart from traditional VAT compliance we also need to transform to VAT digitalization as many EU countries are moving into that direction. For this you work together with the Manager F&A System applications.

You report to the Senior F&A Manager. The Finance & Accounting department consists of 20 people.

In this role, you are responsible for :

  • Manage VAT compliance process
  • Maintain contacts with VAT consultants and VAT outsourcing partners
  • Assure timely filing of VAT/Intrastat returns and related listings, in cooperation with service providers for the VAT registrations of Denso Europe
  • Monthly closing/reconciliation/specifications of the VAT accounts
  • Monitor and manage VAT refunds/refund positions
  • Deliver explanations/data on requests of tax authorities in respect of VAT refund audits and general VAT audits
  • Assist with questions of the business related to VAT treatment of invoices, both AP and AR related
  • Assistance with implementation of new VAT digital reporting requirements in Denso systems
  • Frequent contact with EU Sales Offices and Manufacturing Plants

Qualifications

The ideal candidate we are looking for has the following characteristics:

Education and work experience:

  • A relevant and completed MBO/HBO education with additional VAT courses
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, in an international company with multiple VAT registrations, or in one of Big4 companies.

Knowledge, skills and competences:

  • Knowledge of and experience with VAT, intrastat & IC processes
  • Knowledge of ERP packages/processes like JDEdwards and/or INFOR LN
  • Knowledge of Accounting & booking processes
  • Ability to work independently with ownership and initiative
  • Be responsible, punctual, collaborative and persistent
  • Enjoy to work with different cultures in an international environment
  • You are available for 40 hours a week.

Additional information

You work within an international, very diverse and multi-cultural organization. In view of the international contacts, a command of the English language in word and writing is necessary. Dutch skills are preferred.  This position in our Finance & Accounting department is located at the European headquarters which is located in Weesp.
