Job Description
Location: Our corporate office is based in San Francisco,CA. We are open to discuss Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle-based candidates. Candidate must live on the West Coast.
We’re currently looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Head of Growth Marketing to unlock our next phase of growth in the USA. This role is currently an Individual Contributor, reporting into our CMO and e-commerce Lead. The ideal candidate is a team player, strategic thinker, world-class executor, strong digital marketing specialist, driven by making an impact.
You’ll be responsible for developing, executing, and scaling our growth marketing efforts to build awareness, acquire and retain customers within our priority sport/outdoor communities in the USA Together with your agencies, you will own paid media (upper, mid and lower funnel), affiliates, SEO and owned media (email, sms etc…), driving demand across our decathlon.com, marketplaces and wholesale channels.
If you have a proven track record of building and optimizing digital email and paid media campaigns that drive acquisition and/or retention; if you have experience in media planning including upper funnel channels; and if you love building things from scratch, we’d love to talk.
In this role you will:
- Develop, execute and optimize growth marketing plans that drive awareness, acquisition and retention across paid media (e.g. search, social, programmatic, out-of-home, Connected TV…) affiliates, email marketing, and trial/repeat incentives.
- Forecast, measure and optimize your campaigns’ performance, working directly in-house and with our paid media agency.
- Create budget and KPIs; track and report performance, refining and reapplying budget based on business results.
- Test and introduce new growth channels into the channel mix tapping into new target audiences
- Lead agency/ies and work directly with new partners and media (e.g. Google, Meta, Walmart advertising, etc…).
- Collaborate with our Brand Marketing, e-commerce (DTC and marketplaces), wholesale, and category teams to deliver your programs.
- Monitor and stay current on our priority audiences, market trends and competitor activity to identify new strategies for our paid/owned media programs.
- Author multiple documents relating to media planning and recommendations program recommendation, execution and optimization.
- Establish the right processes to empower your team and agencies to execute and optimize flawlessly and efficiently.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, e-commerce, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in consumer marketing or e-commerce.
- Expertise in growth marketing, including paid media (search and social) and email marketing.
- A proven track record of executing and optimizing directly paid search/social is a must, including using Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Facebook/Instagram Ads.
- Experience or exposure to SEO, affiliates, influencer marketing, and streaming media.
- Experience working directly in Shopify and Klaviyo is a plus.
- Experience operating both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, and fast-growth companies.
- Strong budgetary management and analytical skills, proven experience analyzing marketing spend to determine ROI and inform future activities/investments
- Excellent business acumen and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills with a roll up your sleeves and can-do attitude.
