Job Description

Our Marketing & E-commerce Team is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst to take us to the next level. Our team’s success depends on our ability to create insight from our data, and turn these insights into better customer experiences and acquisition/engagement programs. 

This role requires an individual with excellent statistical and analytical abilities, strong attention to detail, deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions (like Microsoft Excel, SQL, Google Analytics, Google Studio), as well as outstanding business acumen and ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with business owners. The candidate must be able to roll up their sleeves, work directly with the data, and recognize that success of their work is based on the impact of their findings on the business.

In this role you will: 

  • Understand our business objectives, identify our needs, collect the data, draw insights, author reports and make business-oriented recommendations on our e-com business and marketing plans

  • Enable decision-making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format

  • Influence business decisions at the strategic and tactical levels

  • Identify areas of opportunity to automate and scale analyses. Own the design, development, and automated maintenance of ongoing self-service reports and dashboards

  • Write high-quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data

  • Prioritize intake requests and make trade-offs to focus your bandwidth on what’s most impactful to the business

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Marketing, e-commerce, Category teams) to understand and address their data/insights needs

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field

  • 5+ years in a role requiring application of analytic skills in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analyst role. 

  • 2+ years experience in e-commerce or marketing related roles, familiar with topics such as media efficiency, customer segmentation, lifetime value. 

  • Highly proficient in SQL and working with datasets from multiple sources.

  • Highly proficient in Excel and visualization tools, particularly Google Studio.  

  • Familiar with Shopify and Google Analytics is a plus. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications and experience presenting to their work. 

  • Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in an agile, dynamic and cross functional environment.

Our headquarters is based in San Francisco, CA, and we’re implementing a hybrid office / home model. This role can be remote in the USA, with an ability to travel when needed.
