Job Description

As an Accounting and Financial Controller, you will lead all aspects of accounting operations, as well as influencing and supporting various projects as we scale. You will work with the local finance/operational teams as well as our corporate accounting staff in France.

To be successful in this role, you must have a extensive accounting background and experience in managing accounting teams.  Experience in creating a financial environment with accurate accounting and strong internal controls is required. 

You will be responsible for the quality of the accounting.  You will be working with an experienced, motivated team willing to share their knowledge and experience in Decathlon. We are looking for a team player, with a positive attitude and flexibility to thrive within a fast-growing company.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all accounting activities and Decathlon accounting team

  • Responsible for accounting and financial audits

  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately w/ documented reconciliations

  • Perform financial tests and reconciliations of internal accounts

  • Work closely with accountants to provide input on management reporting needs and better understand actual results

  • Oversee the monitoring of internal control on various accounting cycles

  • Take ownership of special projects in order to improve the accuracy of our financial statements: Inventory accuracy, Pricing Structure, Cross-channel margin reconciliation

 

Qualifications

  • CPA Preferred

  • Experience in managing the entire accounting process including financial audits

  • Previous experience managing an accounting team

  • Passionate about sports

  • Positive, hands-on attitude with attention to detail and a desire to learn

  • Embrace responsibility and vitality 

  • Advanced analytical skills: Big data software experience, SQL, Google studio.  Experience with Oracle E-one and SAP preferred

  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel - (VLookup, PivotTable)

  • Able to travel within the Bay Area.  San Francisco Embarcadero office and Oakland warehouse

Additional Information

Preference for someone located in the Bay Area, the Decathlon team is operating under a hybrid model of office/remote work.
