Job Description

Our Assistant Department Managers are responsible for customer service satisfaction and sales. You will work in the various sport sections, learning more about those sport products and practices that are important to you. In addition to core responsibilities below you will have an opportunity to assist in various managerial tasks including duty manager shifts, scheduling, training, as well as giving your insights to improve our department operations. 

Core responsibilities include ensuring proper merchandise presentation, working with online tools, going above and beyond to engage with our valued sports users and educating them about what Decathlon has to offer. You are expected to be flexible in order to perform a range of functions in all areas of the store as business needs require. Additional tasks in specific situations may be requested if the performance of these tasks will help achieve our customer service and operational goals. 

As an Assistant Department Manager:

  • Provide best customer service by greeting, listening and assisting and advising our customers’ needs as you build a genuine relationship with them

  • Ensure the stock is replenished in a timely fashion and is accurate for our customers availability

  • We’ll count on you to support the team, keep the store and merchandise organized and looking its best

  • Work together with our teams to achieve or exceed weekly sales goals 

  • Take initiatives in other managerial tasks leading to successful business operations

  • Complete other additional tasks and assignments under the direction of Department Managers 

  • Most importantly you’ll be a team player to a very dynamic team where culture and team environment is essential. Our team knows how to work hard and play hard together to achieve


  • Passionate about sports and are excited by your potential to drive impactful change in people

  • Previous experience in retail and customer service is a must

  • Positive, hands-on attitude with a desire to learn

  • Embrace responsibility and vitality

  • Great listener, communicator, and a team player

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Flexible schedule and availability on weekends is a must

  • Experience using G-Suite is a plus
