Job Description

The Digital Marketing Director reports to the VP of Marketing in a high-impact role for a quickly growing startup. You will be responsible for owning and developing online strategies across digital marketing channels from website and social media to digital advertising and paid partnerships. The role also provides the opportunity to guide the evolution of a new brand - utilizing analytics and data-driven decision making to optimize and drive the strategy on how we create awareness with the global community of web developers and convert them into passionate customers.

The Digital Marketing Director deeply understands software developers and how to reach and influence them.  You will know how to grow online communities, encourage passion, and inspire passionate users to promote broader adoption of 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with marketing automation platforms such as Hubspot or Marketo, executing and optimizing digital ads and campaigns, and generating and testing content.  The person in this role is a leader, results-oriented, and relishes working in a startup environment.


Job Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising

  • Increasing audience and engagement throughout our social media presence and across digital channels; grow and foster online communities and create content focused on developer audiences.

  • Measuring, analyzing, and optimizing performance of digital marketing campaigns

  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights

  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.  Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests

  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience

  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points

  • Instrument conversion points and optimize user funnels

  • Collaborate with agencies, other vendor partners, and co-market with other industry partners.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate


  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field

  • Proven working experience in digital marketing and being highly metrics driven

  • Prior experience in technology or B2B/SaaS demand generation, and co-marketing with industry partners. 

  • Demonstrable experience leading, managing, and improving SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns

  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate

  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels

  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments

  • Strong knowledge of website analytics tools

  • Working knowledge of executing and optimizing online advertising campaigns

  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords 

  • Prior hands-on experience utilizing Salesforce, Hubspot or Marketo

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints

  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
