Job Description
To support our continued growth, we are looking for a hands-on IT System Administrator to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of IT Administration & Security.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to users, takes ownership of daily IT operations, and is comfortable covering first- and second-level support in a modern SME environment. You will play a key role in keeping our IT systems stable, well-documented, and user-friendly, while working closely with senior IT leadership.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Provide First- and Second-Level IT support for employees (Windows, macOS, Linux endpoints)
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding, identities, and access rights using Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Administer and support company mobile devices (iOS / iPhones) including setup, troubleshooting, and lifecycle handling
- Install, configure, and maintain end-user hardware and software
- Support and maintain core IT infrastructure (servers, basic networking, storage, backups)
- Monitor systems and resolve incidents and recurring issues in a structured and reliable manner
- Maintain and update IT documentation, guidelines, and asset records
- Support license and tenant management (e.g. Microsoft 365 and engineering-related software)
- Coordinate with external IT service providers and vendors when required
- Assist with system updates, standard configurations, and operational IT policies
Qualifications
- Completed education in IT or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in IT support / system administration in an SME or startup environment
- Strong experience in First- and Second-Level Support
- Strong Windows client administration and basic server environments knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD) knowledge
- Networking concepts knowledge (LAN, VPN, firewalls)
- Experience managing company smartphones (iOS) in a business environment
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
- Service-oriented mindset and good communication skills
- Fluent communication in English & German
- Basic expericence with ERP or PLM systems, Linux systems and HPC environments
- Nice to have: IT or system-related certifications
- Nice to have: experience in engineering or technical environment
- Interest in expanding technical breadth across systems, infrastructure, and operations over time
