Job Description

CyberArk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Machine Identity Security team, focused on backend systems that power the control plane of our platform.

In this role, you will design, build, and operate scalable backend services and APIs that enable secure machine identity and certificate lifecycle management at scale. You will work on distributed systems handling high request volumes, real-time interactions, and multi-tenant SaaS environments.

This role is ideal for engineers who are strong in backend development and system behavior, and who want to work on complex, production-grade systems while growing their system design depth.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power control plane functionality
  • Develop scalable, reliable services operating in distributed, cloud-native environments
  • Contribute to system design and architecture discussions, focusing on scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Build integrations between the control plane and external systems (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, enterprise platforms)
  • Optimize backend services for performance, including latency, throughput, and concurrency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across distributed systems and services
  • Work closely with product, platform, and security teams to deliver new capabilities
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering quality and standards
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and system reliability improvements
