Job Description

  • Establish performance criteria and success metrics in accordance with clinical requirements.
  • Craft and improve data collection procedures to include accurate and relevant data for machine learning models.
  • Seek and screen data from third-party sources for data augmentation.
  • Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for modeling.
  • Perform analysis of failure modes and measure the unintended model bias.
  • Maintain machine learning pipelines and implement the appropriate models and data governance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop objectives, design sampling, randomization, and statistical analysis plans to achieve study objectives and to develop commercial KPIs for placement and utilization efforts of Cutera systems.
  • Author statistical section of study protocol and develop statistical analysis plan (SAP). Support the clinical sections of FDA submissions to ensure proper presentation of statistical analyses and results.
  • Lead efforts in resolving day to day work related issues and problems, improving efficiency, quality, and productivity of the operation; enhancing customer relationship and improving customer satisfaction level on our services. These efforts may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Research and development of statistical methodologies.
  • Investigate and implement new technologies, processes and procedures.
  • Participate in developing and executing marketing strategies and plans (trade shows, publications/presentations, corporate website design and maintenance, meeting with existing and new clients).
  • Participate in developing and executing customer relationship management plans.
  • Participate in business development and maintenance activities.
  • Perform appropriate methodologic procedures for statistical analysis, overall descriptive statistics, exploratory data analyses, necessary transformations and confirmatory data analyses, statistical tests and/or modeling.
  • Design tables and statistical procedures for clinical studies.
  • Perform SAS coding support for multiple functions, including clinical data management, commercial operations, and regulatory team. Maintain and modify in-house software to support CDM data query, CEC/DSMB meeting and annual report.
  • Perform sample size and power calculations, generates randomization schema, and prepares statistical sections for protocols.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings that require statistical input.
  • Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master in Statistics/Biostatistics or equivalent quantitative discipline plus minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience are required. PhD degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAS programming, Python data science stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Jupyter), Keras, and other ML tools.
  • Experience in clinical database software is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and to work calmly under time constraints and tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with clinical managers, data managers and other statisticians.
  • A sophisticated understanding of data science techniques and algorithms, including machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures.
  • Experience with Computer Vision and/or Natural Language Processing.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Spark, Python, Python data science stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Jupyter), Keras, and other ML tools.
  • Excellent data visualization skills.
  • Excellent statistical reasoning and applied statistics skills.
  • Master/PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics/Biostatistics or equivalent quantitative discipline.
