Job Description

As our Senior Manager, Business Unit Finance, you will lead and develop a high-performing finance team responsible for delivering insightful financial analysis, forecasting, and decision support across the organisation. You will play a critical role in ensuring leaders have the financial intelligence needed to make informed, strategic decisions through rigorous planning and analysis, strong governance, and trusted business partnership.

This role owns the delivery of business and market-facing financial insights, forecasting, and performance analysis, partnering closely with stakeholders to support decisions that impact organisational performance, risk management, cost outcomes, and delivery capacity. You will provide commercial leadership and strategic financial guidance while driving accountability, continuous improvement, and best-practice financial management.

In addition, you will lead and develop the Business Unit Finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth, while establishing clear standards, frameworks, and processes that support best-practice finance partnering across the organisation.

Responsibilities 

  • Provide commercially grounded advice on revenue, costs, and prioritisation
  • Lead near to medium-term planning and analysis for the company, including annual budget, forecasts, risks and opportunity monitoring, and performance commentary
  • Lead a rolling 18-month forecast approach that connects business activity
  • Ensure performance insights are clear, timely, and decision-useful for management, ELT, and Board reporting cycles
  • Support development of overarching performance narrative and provide insight to material movements, options, and implications
  • Work with Strategic Finance to ensure near, medium, and long-range planning remain aligned
  • Drive integration of acquisitions into Group FP&A processes and one financial story
  • Prepare and contribute to periodic financial reports, including profit and loss accounts, variance analysis, and commentary
  • Maintain discipline in results, forecasts, assumptions, risks and opportunities, and data quality
  • Ensure appropriate governance over accruals, provisions, cost centre structures, planning assumptions and material forecast changes
  • Partner with FP&A Centre of Excellence to improve templates, models, cadence, automation, and efficiency
  • Support implementation of Workday ERP

 

 

Qualifications

Essential:

  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A or commercial finance.
  • 5+ years leading a finance partnering team in a complex organisation
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and scenario/risk analysis
  • Strong financial modelling and management reporting experience
  • Proven ability to influence C-suite executives and senior business leaders using commercial insight and clear financial advice
  • Advanced skills with Excel and other MS products.

Desirable

  • Payments, banking, financial services, or APRA-regulated environment
  • Experience with reporting & planning systems such as Workday, TM1
  • Experience supporting integration, transformation, or operating model change
