We’re looking for a Billing Analyst to join our Shared Services team and help shape the future of payments.
Shared Services refers to the domain within our Product Division that has business ownership and accountability for the common assets and functions used within the Product Division. Shared Services is complex. As the link between other product domains, we are the business owner of over 40 applications.
Our Client Interfaces and Billing squad exists to make it easy for clients to access Cuscal systems and manage Cuscal fees and billing simple so they can optimise their costs. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the Billing Analyst is responsible for creating, implementing, and enhancing our systems and processes to ensure our billing processes are accurate and compliant. The Billing Analyst will have responsibilities across the following areas:
1) Identify trends, pinpoint changes and discrepancies in scheme fees, and support ongoing accuracy and transparency in billing processes.
Use data analytics to assess patterns in pass-through fees and customer billing, identifying trends and outliers.
Provide actionable insights to stakeholders on pricing trends, cost increases from payment schemes, and customer usage patterns to support strategic decision-making.
2) Accurately calculate and manage pass-through fees for various payment schemes and other incurred processing costs.
Design and develop models and tools for calculating pass-through fees tied to various payment schemes (e.g., interchange fees, network fees, processing charges) that are passed directly to customers without mark-up.
Maintain accurate pass-through fee calculations for a range of services, ensuring alignment with third-party cost structures and contractual agreements.
Collaborate with Product and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all fee pass-through processes
3) Ensure billing systems are optimised, accurate, and compliant.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for pass-through fee calculations, billing rules, and system configurations to ensure clarity and accuracy.
Produce regular and ad-hoc reports on fee trends, billing accuracy, and remediation efforts for internal stakeholders and senior management.
Assist in audits by preparing fee calculation data, documenting billing workflows, and demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements
4) Create value for Cuscal and Cuscal clients through data driven insights.
Implement tools and processes to streamline data extraction, analysis, and reporting of pass-through fees.
Create automated workflows to reconcile billing data, minimise manual intervention, and reduce error rates in billing processes.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in billing systems analysis, preferably within financial services or telecommunications sectors.
Proven experience with databases for billing systems and applications.
Proven track record of managing systems/process changes and enhancements.
Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights
Ability to analyse complex billing issues and data to drive improvements in systems and processes
