Job Description

What is this role about?

The Scrum Master facilitates and champions the adoption of Agile and Lean principles. They are responsible for ensuring the Cuscal operating framework and ways of working are understood and enacted by the team to deliver quality products efficiently and effectively. They ensure the related Agile practices are adopted and embedded and drive a continuous Improvement mindset within their squads.

Role specifics:

  • Ensure that Scrum processes are correctly understood and followed by all team members, including the Product Owner.
  • Facilitate process of deciding which stories will be included in each sprint through understanding team’s velocity, story scope and DoR.
  • Facilitate agile events, meetings or ceremonies, including but not limited to planning, daily standups, reviews and retrospective sessions.
  • Eliminate environment obstructions and protect the team from distractions and interruptions that may affect the quality of deliverables and processes.
  • Facilitate identification, assessment, and escalation of impediments and risks by the squad, providing visibility of impediment and risk status and issues to Senior Management.
  • Act as Scrum Master for 2 cross functional squad.
  • Facilitate release and incident management, ensuring that all required members are available and can contribute.

Qualifications

What you will bring:

  • 2+ years' experience leading and transforming team delivery using Scrum.
  • Experience coaching and training team members in Agile practices and techniques.
  • Experience in Backlog management.
  • Experience using metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement practices with problem solving such as root cause analysis.
  • Previous experience in software development or engineering.

Although not required, any experience in the following would be considered highly desirable:

  • Payments Industry knowledge.
  • Fintech start up experience.
