Job Description

  • Provide overall quality leadership to the organization. Drive the continuous improvement efforts throughout the operation in support of the Business. Provide quality support to customers, suppliers, partners, and the support/service functions of the organization.
  • Manage the Quality strategy of the organization to facilitate continuous production and improvement of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.
  • In this function you will: Develop and implement a quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives of the local plant and lead the efforts to integrate quality needs into the development of short and long-term improvement plans. This includes leading the operation in the implementation and improvement of the Quality Management System.
  •  Provide quality interface and expertise between the operation and its customers to proactively identify or anticipate their needs and expectations and ensure they are understood and satisfied. This includes the complaint management system and the corrective/preventive action process related to customer issues – with feedback (customer and division) – and the coordination of customer visits and audits.  Lead the product service organization to respond to warranty claims by determining root cause and appropriate repair or replacement and communication to the customer.   Followed by corrective actions in manufacturing or design to improve overall quality.
  •  Appropriate levels of this knowledge must be transferred to all subordinates as part of their personal development. Lead the deployment and integration of the Quality Management System 
  • Analyze key organizational quality metrics and perform periodic reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps at an operational level. This role monitors cost of quality and reports to the business on overall performance and corrective actions.
  • Provide support to the Supply Chain Management organization relative to supplier quality activities of the operation as well as provide quality interface, expertise and support to the organization’s suppliers and partners.
  • Lead the internal quality system audit program for the organization and manage the corrective action system in conjunction with the management review process.
  •  Provide expertise in quality assurance and process improvement tools/methods to the other functions of the organization to support them in their continuous improvement activities.
  • Recommend new or leading-edge technologies, methods, tools and procedures on the fields of quality assurance and continuous improvement to proactively address changes in the business environment.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product/process specifications to determine standards and establish proposed quality and reliability requirements for the finished product. Manage the performance and provide career development opportunities to all the employees within the quality function of the organization. This includes the development and implementation of training programs to build “bench strength” in the organization.
  • Manage the budget of the quality organization.
  • Facilitate customer and other quality audits and inspections as appropriate to demonstrate compliance. Maintain ISO/QS certification where needed.
  • Design and implement quality assurance training programs and conduct training in quality-related topics.
  • Ensure functional participation in development and launch activities for new products.
  • Coordinate and assist with corporate initiatives, participating on teams to drive best practices across the corporation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience leading quality, engineering or manufacturing projects and teams
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Preferred qualifications: 

  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM or CQMOE)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  •  Strong interpersonal communications and leadership skills development.

Position Criteria: Must have a demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches, and tools, including strategic planning and project management. Training in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality Management System standards (i.e., ISO-9001, TS-16949)

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more.  This salary range is $140,000-$160,000.
