Job Description
Reporting to the Global Controller the Assistant Controller will be responsible for US GAAP compliance, financial statement preparation, best practice procedures, financial management and controllership project management. Assistant Controller will be involved in most aspects of the global controllership function and will work closely with the rest of the senior finance leadership team.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for a mature leader with ten to fifteen years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Finance and Accounting Leadership
- Be well versed in accounting principles, particularly revenue recognition and inventory costing.
- Have a solid foundation to research technical matters and arrive at GAAP compliant recommendations and implement as needed.
- Ensure the business is compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Understand key business risks and internal control framework to focus efforts and look forward.
- Develop a solid understanding of the financial statements and prepare analysis and commentary.
- Assist with standard and/or policy implementations / changes.
- Function as a liaison with auditors.
- Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements including necessary journal entries.
- Assist in monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
- Support ad hoc analysis requests.

- Helps to clarify roles and responsibilities
- Develops and implements training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
- Provides leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the enterprise; creates and promotes a positive and supportive work environment.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment; a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the CFO and Global Controller the accounting operations for the enterprise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, required
- CPA and/or MBA, preferred
- Financial systems expertise, SAP required
- Solid, current knowledge of GAAP
- 10-15 years experience in both public accounting and industry
- Manufacturing experience required
