Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Social Media Coordinator to support the daily administration of our established social media accounts. This unique role requires an individual with meticulous attention to detail, superior organization skills, and a savviness with social media platforms – particularly Instagram. The Social Media Coordinator role requires a flexible work schedule, as the administration of our social media channels is an ongoing requirement.

This is a full-time, salaried position based out of Calgary.

This is not your typical 9 to 5 kind of job. We are looking for someone who understands that our business is 24/7 and is passionate about engaging with our audience in a meaningful way while ensuring authenticity to our established brand voice.​​​​​​​

Applicants must be able and willing to work evenings and weekends. Work may be performed from home with a minimum requirement of two days in office per week.

Responsibilies

  • Develop strong understanding of Curiocity’s brand, services, and competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with Curiocity Management to understand corporate messaging, brand voice, and communication goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal business units to understand daily social media initiatives and inform content strategy.
  • Oversee the daily posting of all approved content to Curiocity platforms, ensuring laser precision to detail, compliance, timeliness, and impeccable spelling and grammar.
  • Maintain continuous awareness of local happenings within Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto and Seattle.
  • Assist with the curation of relevant content to engage audience while remaining on brand.
  • Respond to steady flow of business inquiries and redirect to appropriate team members.
  • Respond to daily messages and engage with followers as required.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on weekly analytics to Curiocity Management.
  • Coordinate and monitor paid campaigns, ensuring they are reaching corporate KPI targets.
  • Attend industry events and community investment initiatives as a representative of Curiocity as required.
  • Additional administrative support as required.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, PR, or related field is preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in a related Social Media or Marketing capacity.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and willing to work an unconventional schedule.
  • Superior savviness with social media, pop culture, and an acute awareness of local happenings.
  • Proficient in use of Canva, Facebook Ad Manager, and Google Analytics.
  • Understanding of best practices with social media engagement.
  • Understanding of how content performs differently across various marketing platforms and geographic regions.
  • Superior time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
  • Personal laptop and cellphone for day to day work requirements.
