The current Communications Specialist position is a full-time, salary-based role offered for an initial three-month probationary period. As a growing company, additional long-term career opportunities will become available.

Position Responsibilities 

  • Meet with prospective and current clients to develop an in-depth understanding of the client’s business, their goals, target market, and market position.
  • Develop accurate estimates and formal proposals, ensuring prospective client’s objectives are cost-effectively met while providing a return for the business.
  • Ensure corporate service agreement, non-disclosure agreements, and other legal documentation is accurately completed prior to the start of any work.
  • Lead in the composition of client communication assessments, proposals, presentations, and analytic reports driven to meet client objectives and exceed expectations.
  • Manage day to day account requirements from project inception to close out, aligning cross-functional departments and ensuring a superior level of customer service and attention to detail.
  • Manage the development of the client’s social media marketing strategy, creative briefs, content and article calendars, photography shot lists, video storyboards, and other client deliverables and documentation as required.
  • Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, clients, and community partners on client events, communications, advertising, and production requirements.
  • Establish regular client meeting schedule to provide analytic reports and campaign assessment reviews.
  • Collaborate with team in creative marketing strategy sessions.
  • Proactively seek and apply innovative new marketing strategies to maximize client and corporate exposure.
  • Help lead in the development of content creation and editing.
  • Upload content to the web and ensure formatting and imagery to corporate standards.
  • Understand best practices in creating content to engage and grow subscribers and audience-base to the corporate website.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, PR, or related field is preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in related marketing, communications, or administrative capacity (volunteer or co-op experience is applicable).
  • Flawless written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Facebook Ads considered an asset.
  • Personal laptop for day to day work requirements.
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
