Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and high-energy Sales Director.  In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of our sales team, including crafting sales plans and supervising sales managers to ensure plans are being executed correctly. Primary duties include: developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans; collaborating with senior team to set revenue goals and company strategy; implementing a sales plan to drive revenue growth; and attending key events to generate leads.

The successful candidate will be energetic, persuasive, well organized and able to demonstrate the ability to sell, with a history of leading and growing a sales team.  

Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage, train, and develop a sales team

  • Lead a sales team to own and hit/exceed annual sales targets

  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships

  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives

  • Understand category-specific landscapes and market trends

  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts

  • Maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees. As well as counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results

  • Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly changing, entrepreneurial, technology-driven culture

  • Ability to identify and solve client issues strategically

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to the sales and marketing teams providing key business insights.  Typical reporting relates to Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Conversion Rates, Churn.

  • Through reporting and analytics, validate the quality of the lead and pipeline data and provide guidance to improve the overall data quality

  • Database management

Qualifications

  • Grown a team from 3 to 15+
  • Optimally experience in B2B, SaaS
  • Very data driven
  • Experience with SMB sales (1,500-4,000 ACV) but comfortable with a couple of elephants (100k - 400k).
  • Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
