We are currently recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team at the Tesco Distribution Centre in Doncaster, supporting our busy General Haulage operation. This role involves completing store and RDC deliveries across the region and is ideal for professional drivers who take pride in safe driving, excellent customer service, and delivering high standards every day.

Whether you're looking for day shifts or night shifts, we offer a variety of working patterns to suit your lifestyle. Some weekend working may be required as part of the role.

Shift Start Times

Day Shifts

• Start times typically between 02:00 and 07:00

Night Shifts

• Flexible start times available across the evening and overnight period

Pay Rates

Day Shifts

• Monday to Friday: £15.15 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday: £18.15 per hour

Night Shifts

• Monday to Friday: £16.35 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday: £18.65 per hour

Additional Payments

• £5 tax-free meal allowance per shift
• Bank Holidays: £18.96 per hour

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering to Distribution Centres and retail stores across the region
• Supporting store delivery work, including occasional loading and unloading of cages
• Completing trunking routes, drop and swaps, and general haulage assignments
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and completing all relevant paperwork
• Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure efficient operations
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive, and Tachograph legislation

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
