Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Despatch Clerk to join our retail operation.

Working alongside the Senior Transport Clerk and wider transport team, you will provide vital operational and administrative support, including driver check-in/check-out, despatching drivers, and completing key transport documentation.

Salary: £26,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00-6:00

Main Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Efficiently and accurately despatching drivers with all relevant paperwork
  • Completing customer and Stobart KPIs where required
  • Making sure the correct trailer numbers are inputted into the internal tracking system
  • Monitoring the service board to make sure the correct week number is on the correct trailer for depot trailers
  • Liaising with drivers on the gate communication system to make them aware of site procedures before entering site, when required

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Previous experience in a transport, logistics, or administrative role would be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of transport operations and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A flexible and professional approach, with excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and compliance standards.
