Job Description

As Sub Contract Manager you will manage the daily function of the Subcontract team and lead two direct reports. Your team will be responsible for managing subbed volumes covered by 3rd party partners, claims and incidents resulting from subbed work and haulier performance and compliance.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.

Key Duties of a Subcontract Manager:

  • Manage subbed volumes.
  • Implement subcontract strategy based on forecasted volumes.
  • Manage haulier performance.
  • Manage and control all external sub hauliers to ensure 100% legal compliance.
  • Manage and control claims and returns that may arise to reduce the company’s liability of losses.
  • Take on additional work from 3rd party hauliers to reduce empty running on Stobart Fleet.
  • Be the point of contact for purchase order queries.
  • Support Central Team as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a similar role within Transport Operations.
  • Knowledge of the transport industry.
  • Expert knowledge in GTS.
  • Demonstrable planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communicator across all levels.
  • Able to work under pressure and collaborating with a range of departments across the business, from Planning through to Forecasting.
  • IT Literate including Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
