Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will be responsible for supporting the management of the Integrated and Network operations. To facilitate Project Implementation, Site Setups, Operational Improvement Programmes and on occasion direct site support for cover.

This position will support 3 sites within the chilled network and will ideally be based in Telford with travel to Stafford and Bristol once a week. 

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week

Key Duties of a Regional Operations Manager:

  • Champion implementation projects at specific sites as detailed by Regional Operations Director
  • Create a sustainable method of communication that links at all levels within the Region and wider Group
  • Liaise with all group functions to support and resolve operational day to day issues and plan to prevent re-occurrence and deliver a sustainable operational
  • To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality regulations
  • Provide a service based on Reliability, Quality and Repeatability, which is both measurable and auditable
  • To ensure that all areas comply with hygiene audits, both internal and external
  • To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures
  • To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to
  • Support Management team in development of standardised systems across Region
  • Support the Region in the delivery of highly focused and efficient operations at each site
  • Challenge the ways of working and deliver through innovation cost savings. Monitor, control and minimise waste
  • Ensure best practise is developed and used, constantly seeking improvements to layout, efficiency and stock integrity
  • Reviewing staffing levels by site, rotating staff accordingly in line with volumes and building robust succession plans to maintain the service
  • Monitor and manage performance against KPI's
  • Develop staff by training, mentoring and personal development plans
  • To conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure
  • Be a champion of best practise across the Region
  • Work with group and site teams to ensure a robust QMS is maintained across operations
  • Establish internal capability in order to protect business identity and client brands
  • Effectively manage staff issues to prevent issues being escalated

 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience of working successfully within a FMCG environment
  • Previous experience of working in a customer-led environment with changing priorities
  • Prior experience within a management role
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Ability to identify potential and motivate a team of people
  • Extensive knowledge of processes and procedures
  • Experience of working within a production environment
  • Experience of working with  packaging machinery
  • Experience of customer, BRC and ISO audits
  • Level 3 Health & Safety qualification or above
  • Level 3 Food Safety qualification or above
  • Average Weight Legislation knowledge
  • ILM Certificate (Desirable)
  • NVQ Level 3 Management (Desirable)
