Our Markham Vale Two site are now recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor on a full time permanent basis.

Salary: £31,122 per annum. 

Shift: Monday-Friday 

Job Description

Supervising the warehouse team and supporting the Shift Managers in meeting the safety and operational requirements

  • Assist the Shift Manager in delivering the warehouse operation, and supporting with responding to any operational issues within the warehouse.
  • Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff.
  • Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
  • Take ownership for disciplinary, grievance and absence management cases within the shift
  • Support the delivery of communication briefings so that all colleagues have been briefed and informed.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures through safe systems of work and practices, good housekeeping and the provision of information and training to the warehouse team to ensure total safety awareness.
  • Support individuals in meeting performance targets and respond to underperformance issues
  • Maintain records of team performance and individual performance against plans, and to advise the Shift Manager of factors that may disrupt operations which cannot be resolved by the team.
  • Assist in the organisation of training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching.
  • Assist the Shift Manager in controlling levels of planned and unplanned absence and take appropriate action to ensure cover, as necessary, and manage reductions of unacceptable levels.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of operating in various positions within a warehouse, including operating MHE and managing people.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong team player as well as able to work on their own initiative.
  • In depth knowledge of operating warehouse systems.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety
  • Successful experience of achieving challenging deadlines and KPIs
  • PC Literate to a minimum of intermediate level in MS Office.
  • Good communication skills.
