Job Description
To support the growth of IPS, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and professional Accounts Assistant to join our central finance team. This position will initially be a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract to cover maternity leave.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for the processing of both sales and purchase ledger invoices and will communicate with internal and external stakeholders whilst working from your own initiative. This role would suit someone looking to take their first step into a career in finance, as it has the potential to progress into accountancy studies (AAT) for the right candidate.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Salary: up to £24,000 per annum DOE
Duties and responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant includes:
- Processing purchase orders on both SAP and Vision production system.
- Purchase ledger duties including matching, batching and coding of purchase orders.
- Processing new supplier requests and documentation accurately.
- Recording goods received and processing approved capital expenditure documentation.
- Preparing and processing of customer invoices.
- Internal and external query resolution, both for Sales and Purchase invoices.
- Communicating professionally with both customers and suppliers, via phone and email.
- General administrative / adhoc duties to support the IPS finance team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with a fast-paced accounts role is beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Enthusiastic, well organised and diligent, with the ability to work to strict deadlines whilst paying attention to detail.
- A good level of literacy and numeracy is required in order to meet the requirements of this role.
- Some knowledge of finance systems i.e. SAP / Sage would be advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided.
- IT literate; MS Excel skills would prove to be beneficial.
- AAT Qualification is advantageous but not essential.
