We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Controller to join the team based in Burton Latimer. Working on our busy retail customer site, you as the operations controller will oversee, coordinate and manage the allocated resource pool, ensuring the smooth running of the shift.

Overall, you will ensure effective site management in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant H&S regulations at all times.

Main Responsibilities & Objectives;

  • Ensure depot budgets are continually reviewed to ensure targets are met
  • Ensure depot reports are completed daily and within agreed timelines
  • Managers KPI reports and stats sheets are to be updated weekly on the network drive, ensure information is analysed and appropriate follow up action is taken
  • Driver manning levels monitored and planned ahead, ensuring correct allocation of vehicles weekly, detail holidays, overtime and maintenance
  • Manage driver recruitment, liaising with trainers to ensure all new recruits are assessed, interviewed and inducted into the business
  • Conduct exit interviews and complete documentation relating to leavers
  • Management of drivers WTD Regulations
  • Monthly meeting with driver rep's
  • Monitor debrief processes and procedures ensuring proof of delivery documentations, returns detail, signatures, receipts and pallet information is completed correctly
  • Compliance with H&S regulations and further internal policies such as Disciplinary and Grievance procedures
  • Keep personnel files updated
  • Manage driver resource again forecasted routes

Qualifications

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • Stobart are looking for individuals with a operations or planning background within the transport and logistics industry
  • Good working knowledge of WTD and EU Driver hours regulations.
  • Overall, candidates will have a good working knowledge of Transport Systems and Microsoft
