Job Description

What's the role? 

Stobart Payroll team have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time.

You will liaise with internal and external customers of the department in a professional manner whilst providing support to the Head of department and other stakeholders to ensure weekly/monthly payroll & pension deadlines are met. 

Main Responsibilities & Objectives: 

  • Liaise with Managers to ensure all data and supporting paperwork is accurate, complete and correctly authorised prior to processing
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing and calculation of payroll data from individual timesheets, summary sheets, including new starters, changes, leavers, overtime and absences
  • Ensure wages information is imported/input from GTS/department spreadsheets onto the payroll system within the required timescales, and that appropriate and relevant control checks are carried out.
  • Create, and maintain spreadsheets, key weekly/monthly spreadsheets for payroll purposes for starters, leavers and changes
  • Process absence information, including SSP, Company Sick Pay, Holiday Pay in accordance with statutory and Company requirements ensuring relevant documents are set up/maintained to record and control data
  • Ensure statutory deductions, courts orders/CSA etc. are processed, reconciled and paid to external bodies in accordance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Assist with processing and reconciliation of weekly/monthly data to payroll reports
  • Focal point for employee pay queries, ensuring ad hoc queries are dealt with, managed and resolved in a professional and timely manner
  • Provide support to colleagues, including cover during sickness/absence
  • Filing and general duties as required with the department
  • Ensuring pension contributions are set up, processed, and maintained, on pay system correctly in accordance with Company and statutory deadlines
