We are currently recruiting for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer on a full time, permanent basis at our St Helens depot.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

Hours: Mornings, Days, Afternoons and Nights available

We run a rotating four shift pattern consisting of mornings (06:00-14:00), days (08:00-16:30) and afternoons (14:00-22:30) and nights (21:45-06:15) when needed.

Job Description

  • Uphold, develop and deliver robust Asset care through professional maintenance
  •  Participate in RCA on machinery failures and put 100 year fix in place
  •  Conduct PPM’s as requested and align with manufacturers recommendations through the use of a CMMS (Shire)
  •  Support and work with processes developed to maintain stock levels.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure production runs as effectively as possible
  • Work collaboratively with other departments
  • Day to day maintenance of manufacturing equipment and site services
  • Carry out fault finding, using recognised diagnostic techniques
  • Have a positive contribution to planned and preventative maintenance
  • Maximise equipment reliability and performance
  • Respond to internal customer needs to maximise production run time according to given priorities
  • Comply with food safety standards and controls to ensure all work is carried out correctly and safely
  • Complete all necessary documentation ensuring that it is kept accurate and is audit ready
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements to promote Health & Safety and/or operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Participate in handover meeting to ensure smooth transfer of workload
  • Take the lead with engineering related tasks on our sites in Port Salford and Skelmersdale

Qualifications

  • Formal engineering qualification HNC and above, 70 / 30 electrical bias.
  • Working knowledge of TPM methodology
  • Demonstrable PLC skills (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley)
  • Demonstrable skills working with Flow Wrappers, Multihead Weighers, Printing Systems, Powder Transfer Systems, Rotary Pot Sealers, Augers, Checkweighers and Metal Detectors
  • Experience of working in food and FMCG environment.
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically in all task’s
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualification preferred
  • Good numeracy and IT skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills
  • Experienced with working to tight customer deadlines
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks
