    Job Description

    We currently have two openings for a day shift and a night shift Warehouse Supervisor on a full time, permanent basis. 

    • 5 from 7 Days – Tuesday to Saturday   06:00-14:00
    • 5 from 7 Nights – Sunday to Thursday  22:00-06:00

    As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be assisting in the day-to-day running of the warehouse in line with Company and customer standards. You will lead a team ensuring good productivity, loading accuracy and the overall performance of the warehouse is achieved to meet customer and company service levels.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • To supervise the warehouse staff to ensure that warehouse disciplines are rigidly maintained.
    • To be responsible for the achievement of daily KPI's in order that: daily targets, despatch requirements and delivery targets, loading accuracy 
    • Ensuring all operatives are trained in the warehouse discipline of loading and to arrange retraining where necessary.
    • Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping are achieved and taking appropriate action where it is not found.
    • Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Rules are enforced in the warehouse, and any issues are reported in line with company procedures.
    • Instrumental in conducting risk assessments and safe systems of work. 
    • Ensuring Company HACCP processes are reviewed and implemented as required
    • Identifying procedures and or systems used which could be improved to help minimise warehouse errors and maximise staff productivity.
    • To liaise accordingly with operations and all other departments and sites to develop strong working relationships.
    • Manage day to day team issues including holiday’s authorisation and arranging cover, timekeeping and absence monitoring, completion of daily time sheets. 
    • Manage performance/conduct issues of colleagues within the team, ensuring that they are resolved effectively and consistently in line with Fowler Welch company policy and procedures, escalating to HR and your Line Manager where required. 

    This list is not exhaustive, and the job holder may be required to undertake other duties.

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    • 3-5 years Supervisory experience within a warehouse environment
    • Customer service experience
    • Proven track record of working to Key Performance Indicators
    • Knowledge of warehouse health & safety legislation
    • Knowledge of operational methods and procedures relating to the FMC industry
    • Driving for excellence
    • Raising others’ capability
    • Commitment to goals and values

    Desirable:

    • Process improvement qualifications (LEAN, Six Sigma for example)
    • Leadership qualifications (Such as ILM)
